JoSAA choice filling decides which college you join, and one wrong order can cost you a seat you could have got. The JoSAA Smart List 2027 builds your complete choice list in the right order, with your chance for every option, from official JoSAA cutoffs.

Why the order of your choices matters

JoSAA gives you the highest choice on your list that your rank can get. It never moves you up to a choice you placed lower.

So if a safe college sits above a dream college, you can lose the dream college even when your rank was good enough. Good JoSAA choice filling puts Reach options first, then Likely, then Safe.

Most students fill 100 to 250 choices. Ordering that many by hand, across quotas and seat types, is where mistakes happen.

How the Smart List predicts your chance

We use the official JoSAA 2026 opening and closing ranks for every round, published on josaa.admissions.nic.in. That covers 13,292 seat rows across 138 institutes: 23 IITs, 32 NITs, 26 IIITs and 57 GFTIs.

Your chance for each option is worked out from the tougher of the 2025 and 2026 final closing ranks. We tested the method on real results: we predicted 2025 from 2023 and 2024, and 2026 from 2024 and 2025, for nearly 21,000 seat results and 1,600 simulated students:

• 100% of simulated students got a seat from their Smart List.
• Safe options came true 98% of the time.
• Every chance we showed matched the real result within 1 point. Reach choices are your real shot at a better college, and they cost you nothing, because your Likely and Safe choices stay below them.

How our JoSAA choice filling list is different

• Tested and published: checked on official JoSAA results from 2023 to 2026. Most predictors show no test at all.
• Three years of closing ranks on every row, and your chance is based on the tougher of the last two, because cutoffs often bounce back.
• Honest warnings on seats that swing a lot and on new seats. They are never marked Safe.
• The right rank for every seat: CRL, category, PwD, female-only, Home State and Other State quota.

The Smart List can’t be refunded once you have opened it.

JoSAA registration and choice filling usually open soon after JEE Advanced results in June. Watch josaa.admissions.nic.in for the official 2027 schedule.

Can I change my list after buying?

Yes. Change your ranks, branches or cities and rebuild the list as many times as you need until 30 November 2027.
